Conferences, talks, and meetups with OGraf on the agenda.
OGraf runs from a dedicated demo pod on the EBU stand across all four days, showing one package travelling from creation to live and on to post: CBC and Adobe/StreamShapers coming out of After Effects, Everviz animated maps, TV 2 Danmark on DaVinci Resolve for non-linear, SPX Graphics on touchscreen and Unreal Engine, plus Loopic, Erizos and LiveOS. The EBU stand also hosts the Open Source Meetup (Sat 12 Sep, 16:00).
OGraf's dedicated conference session at IBC 2026, part of the Owner & Partners Programme and SMPTE's "Future of Media Infrastructure" roadshow day. How designing once and playing anywhere works in practice, and what it means for vendors and production teams.
Sessions and roundtables worth catching the recordings or decks for.
The first big production case study: TV 2 Danmark ran OGraf graphics through its national election coverage, letting the anchor walk through results interactively. Slides available as PDF from the EBU.
OGraf's first appearance at a streaming-side conference rather than a broadcast one — why vendor-neutral graphics workflows matter, pitched to an audience of players, DRM, ad-tech and live-production people.
OGraf's NAB debut, in SMPTE's VIBE conference track: how an OGraf graphic is structured, how the Control API works, and what the spec changes for broadcast graphics workflows.
The OGraf working group took the standard to Odense with a joint presentation and the launch of the OGraf explainer video led by the BBC. HTML graphics ran through the whole festival: the BBC made the case on stage and SPX Graphics called 2026 the biggest year yet for the technology.
A hands-on OGraf demo running through PTS, built from templates contributed by the working group. Not a programme session — it lived on the floor, which is why it doesn't show up in the published agenda.
Niels Borg's OGraf pitch at the EBU Open Source Meetup — how the open specification for HTML graphics in live TV and post came together, days before the v1 Graphics spec was published.
The show where OGraf went public. Demonstrated on the EBU stand as "specification and implementations that facilitate use and management of on-screen graphics across platforms," with Loopic, SPX Graphics and coralbay.tv running OGraf on their own stands. The v1 Graphics specification was published days later, on 17 Sep 2025.
Technical deep-dive presentation at the EBU Network Technology Seminar covering OGraf's architecture, manifest format, and server API direction.
The spec's first session open to everyone, industry included, after the members-only preview in March. A technical overview of the draft's features and OGraf's role in practical broadcast applications. Slides and recording are on the EBU site.
The first outing for the draft spec, presented to EBU Members only. The open-to-industry version followed a month later — this is where the HTML graphics specification that became OGraf was first shown outside the working group.
The IBC Accelerator project carrying the HTML-based graphics workstream — the one that fed into OGraf — was named Project of the Year at Kickstart Day, hosted by the BBC. Public recognition for the work weeks before the first OGraf roundtable.
Pre-OGraf context: the IBC Accelerator project championed by TRANSMIXR, ITN, the BBC and TV 2 Danmark, whose second R&D stream — modular, cross-vendor HTML-based graphics, with SPX Graphics taking part — helped seed the case for an open standard.

Announcements, deep dives, and industry coverage.
The second half of OGraf v1 is out. With the Server API published, a controller can drive any compliant renderer over a defined interface — the Graphics spec said what a graphic is, this says how to play it. Both halves are now marked stable and production ready, with future changes backwards-compatible or optional.
A new graphics engine renders animated OGraf templates directly inside BBright's software playout, covering Ultra HD and SMPTE ST 2110 including ST 2110-41 metadata and 2110-43 timed text. OGraf reaching the playout tier, not just the graphics tier.
Everviz adds native OGraf export to their interactive maps and dynamic charts. Create a map once, play it on any OGraf-compliant renderer — SPX, Erizos, and beyond.
Takeaways from MediaTech Festival 2026. Media Tailor frames OGraf as the industry's open answer to decades of vendor lock-in and details their investment in SPX Graphics to accelerate Nordic adoption.
Frans de Jong on how open source came back around in broadcast, with OGraf cited as a project that started the moment its specification existed — a counterpoint to the 'code before spec' pattern he sees emerging elsewhere.
Everviz previews their NAB 2026 demos — interactive maps built for newsroom turnaround, exported via OGraf for any compliant renderer.
